2013 Qualifying Tournament
Tournament Dates – July 23 – July 28 and Aug 3-4
Registration fee: $800

Key dates:
• July 9 – Registration closes 5pm, all payments are due. Preliminary Roster Due.
(Preliminary roster can be from GotSoccer or a NTX Roster - does not need to be signed) Please use upload link to send your roster.

• July 15th - Official Rosters due to LHGCL using upload link. (Please note official NTX Roster must be signed by both registrar and coach)

• July 16 – MANDATORY QT manager/coach meeting, Hyatt Richardson I-75 and
Campbell Road, 7pm

• July 19 – 5pm, Rosters will be frozen, no additional changes will be allowed

• July 23 – Tournament begins (Be prepared to play on weeknights)

Qualifying Tournament Registration process:

3. Payment required at time of registration (Credit Card/eCheck)

4. Upon completing registration, go to http://girlsclassicleague.org/qtform.php
to upload rosters and/or medical releases. (only if you are unable to scan your documents, the documents can be faxed to 1-469-546-2427)

5. Checks and/or Money Orders must be received at the Lake Highlands Post Office box by 5pm July 9.  Allow time for mail delivery. Cash will not be accepted, convert your cash to Money Orders and mail to:

We announced previously that the 5 finalists for the 2013 LHGCL scholarships had been selected.  All five of those finalists were interviewed by a panel of community leaders to determine the scholarship awards.
 
Peter Roe, Scholarship Committee Chairman, thanked the committee for their hard work, and remarked that their decisions were made very difficult due to the very high caliber of these five finalists.
 
The final results were:

• $4,000 Caren Stuebe (Liverpool 95 McManaman)
• $3,000 Megan Keohane (Liverpool 95 Shankly)
• $1,500 Marley Kern (Sting West 95 Vasquez)
• $1,500 Kyla Petrie (TFC 95 Guzman)
• $1,500 Morgan Reinhardt (Sting West Royal 95 Fitzgerald)

 
We’re so proud of these young ladies, and congratulations on your scholarship.

We started with over 70 applications for the LHGCL Scholarship Program. Now we’re down to 5! Each of these deserving young ladies will earn one of the 5 scholarships, providing they comply with the final steps of the process: participating in the final interviews and going on to attend college in the fall.

Getting to this point was an unbelievably difficult task for the Scholarship Committee...

It was great to see nearly 90 teams from three states converge onto UTD for a great weekend of competitive soccer. The 2013 LHGCL Spring Roundup® culminated in the championship matches played yesterday in very stiff winds, but the cool temperatures gave way in the late morning to more pleasant temperatures and clear skies.  We saw outstanding soccer matches in all age groups.
 
Congratulations to all our participants for a well-played tournament. We look forward to having you back next year.
