                 PLAYING FORMAT FOR UNDER 13

18 Teams trying out for 5 spots

ROUND 1:

Teams will be divided into 3 groups of 4, Groups A, B and C; and 2 groups of 3, Groups D and E.
Teams in Groups A, B, and C will play all teams within their group.
Teams in Groups D and E will play all cross-over games between the two groups.
After Round 1, the 1st and 2nd place teams from Groups A, B, and C, plus the top 4 teams from Groups D and E combined will advance to Round 2.  This will not necessarily be 1st and 2nd in D and 1st and 2nd in E.  It is possible that 3 teams from one group and one team from the other groups will advance.

ROUND 2

The 10 teams that advance to Round 2 will be seeded into 3 groups as follows:

            X1  A1st                      Y1  B1st                         Z1  C1st

            X2  D/E1st                   Y2  A2nd                      Z2  D/E 3rd

            X3  B2nd                      Y3  D/E 2nd                 Z3  C2nd

            X4  D/E 4th

NOTE:  The round two pairings as modified above were originally listed on the playing schedules as they are listed here. The mistake was that the pairings originally typed in this format were typed incorrectly.  The pairings on the schedules were not changed. This format was merely corrected to reflect the way the teams are seeded on the schedules.

All teams in Group X in Round 2 will play all teams within their group.  All teams in Groups Y and Z in Round 2 will play cross-over games.  After Round 2 play, the 1st and 2nd place teams from Group A, plus the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams out of all 6 teams from Groups Y and Z will be qualified for the league.

PLAYING FORMAT FOR UNDER 14

20 teams trying out for 6 spots

 ROUND 1:

Teams will be divided into 4 groups of 3, Groups A through D, plus 2 groups of 4, Groups E and F.
All teams will play all teams within their group.
After Round 1, the 1st and 2nd place teams from each Round 1 group will advance to Round 2.  The remaining teams will be eliminated.

ROUND 2

The 12 teams advancing to Round 2 will be seeded into 3 groups of 4 as follows:

X1  A1st                      Y1  B1st                      Z1  C1st

X2  F1st                       Y2  E1st                      Z2  D1st

X3  D2nd                     Y3  F2nd                   Z3  E2nd

X4  B2nd                     Y4  C2nd                   Z4  A2nd

The original pairings of the 2nd place teams were not "snaked" correctly.  When snaking Round 2 for the pairings, we were careful to be sure no one plays a team from their Round 1 group.

All teams in Round 2 will play all teams within their group.  After Round 2 play, the 1st and 2nd place teams from each Round 2 group will be qualified for the league.
