INFORMATION FOR BYE TEAMS

FOR 2007-2008 SOCCER YEAR
(Very Important -- Read Carefully)

TO TEAMS WITH A "BYE": You must turn in to the League Office, or,
if that’s not possible, to your age group Commissioner listed below on or before
Monday, July 16:

  •

Your preliminary roster;

  •

A check payable to LHGCL for $525; and

  •

A list of coaching conflicts (with teams in LHGCL only) for the 2007-2008 Soccer Year (fall & spring seasons).  We will do our best to schedule around coaching conflicts for two teams only.  Coaches who coach more than two teams are on their own.

LEAGUE REGISTRATION ON GOT SOCCER for Bye teams must be completed by this date.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  If you are a new manager, and/or you don't know your team's login/password information from the previous year, please email your commissioner and we will send you the login/password so you'll have total access to your Got Soccer account. DO NOT create a new Got Soccer account for your team.

This information must be in hand, not "it's in the mail" or hand delivered the next day, etc.
MAIL IT EARLY! This roster does not have to be registered because most home associations won't register teams that early. Failure to do so may mean your team forfeits their bye and must participate in the qualifying tournament for entry into Division II or III and/or your team could be fined $200 plus $50 per day for late registration.

*PLEASE NOTE BYE TEAM AMOUNT - $525.00
All bye teams pay the same amount, whether they played in the challenge games or not.
Only one fee per team

YOU MAY SEND YOUR INFORMATION VIA CERTIFIED MAIL, FEDERAL EXPRESS, OR ANY OTHER METHOD THAT REQUIRES A SIGNATURE ONLY TO THE LEAGUE OFFICE. Most of our commissioners are not home during the day to receive this type of delivery, and most cannot get to the post office inside working hours to pick up certified mail. We will NOT guarantee that any mail sent certified mail or Federal Express will be picked up. Mail your application via regular U. S. Mail or hand deliver it to the commissioner. If you question delivery, email the commissioner to check on it.

WRITTEN special scheduling requests (if any) for the 2007-2008 Soccer Year (fall & spring seasons).  All special requests (following the guidelines below) must be made in writing and turned in to your Age Division Commissioner at the coaches'/managers' meeting.  YOU MUST be very specific about each special request and YOU MUST list a reason for each request and how many players are affected or the request will be ignored.  Requests must be on 8 ½ by 11 inch paper.  Pages torn out of notebooks will not be accepted.

Special Scheduling Request Guidelines:

1. Teams may not request any weekends off except teams going to WAGS, or other approved tournaments.  (Teams may be asked to prove they are going to an approved tournament by showing a copy of the acceptance letter, or some other suitable form of proof.)  U17 & U19 teams may request a weekend off in the fall (U16, U17, & U19 in the spring) to attend a “Showcase” tournament.  Their requests will be considered on a case by case basis.

2. Teams are allowed to pick 5 specific days (specific dates) off to allow
for school sports only - no weekends.  (This does NOT mean that you should pick 5 dates to ask off without good cause.  A majority of your players must actually be involved in school sports.)  Coaches at this level need to take a player's commitment level into account when selecting members of the team.

3. We will do our best to schedule around coaching conflicts for (
two only) teams that play in LHGCL.  Coaches who coach more than two teams are on their own.

4. Spring Break - teams may request one week of weeknights off ONLY if a majority of their players are
actually going out of town for spring break.  No weekends will be given off for Spring Break. Travel plans should be made to leave late Sunday afternoon, and return the next Friday so players will be available for play on Saturday and/or Sunday.

5. Only U17 and U19 teams can request Saturday mornings off for SAT and ACT.

INFORMATION ON SPECIAL SCHEDULING REQUESTS

SEASON DATES: Weeknight games will begin during the week of August 20. Saturday games will begin on Saturday, August 25. We will not schedule games over the Labor Day weekend.  We try to end the fall season around the 1st weekend of November, but we cannot guarantee it will end that weekend in the event of rainouts.  DO NOT SCHEDULE ANY TOURNAMENTS NOVEMBER 10-11.  THIS WEEKEND IS RESERVED FOR RAINOUT MAKEUP GAMES.

NO DOGS ALLOWED AT UTD or PHP. PLEASE!!!! TELL ALL YOUR PARENTS AND/OR
SPECTATORS NOT TO BRING THEIR DOGS TO THE COMPLEX. WE DON'T WANT ANY
