HIGHLANDS GIRLS CLASSIC LEAGUE
BYLAWS
A. Classes
of Members. The Classic League shall have one class of Members who
shall meet any one of the following criteria:
1. All coaches, assistant coaches, team
managers, team representatives, players, parents of players, and every person
affiliated in any way with a team or club participating in the Classic League
are members of the Classic League through their participation, affiliation, or
interest in a club, individual team or teams.
2. All LHGCL Officers, Directors and/or
other appointed officials are members of the Classic League.
B. Qualification
for League. Qualification for entry into LHGCL will be determined by
the LHGCL Board of Directors and in accordance with the League Rules as they
may apply from time to time based on the number and quality of teams seeking
entry.
C. Voting
Rights. Each LHGCL Officer and Director shall be entitled to one vote,
as set forth in these bylaws. All other Members shall be represented through
the team with which they are associated. Each team shall be entitled to one
vote per team on each matter submitted to a vote of the Members. Voting by
proxy is not allowed at Board of Directors meetings or Team Representative
meetings. A team representative must be present at each meeting where a vote is
taken for the team to be able to vote. A team representative is defined as the
team’s coach, manager, or other person selected by the team’s coach to
represent the team at a meeting, except as otherwise provided in these Bylaws
and the League Rules.
D. Termination
of Membership. LHGCL is an INVITATIONAL LEAGUE; therefore all entry
into the League is subject to the approval of the LHGCL Board of Directors. Membership
in the Classic League is a privilege, not a right. Individual and/or team membership
may be terminated or suspended by the Board of Directors or Appeals & Disciplinary
Committee (“A&D Committee”), for actions and/or conduct prejudicial or detrimental
to the interest of the Classic League, its program, policies, objectives,
and/or harmonious relationship of its members, as determine by the Board of
Directors or the A&D Committee of the Classic League. Any member suspected
or accused of conduct prejudicial or detrimental to the interest of the Classic
League shall be given the right to appear before the Board of Directors or the
A&D Committee, whichever is appropriate, before such suspension or
termination of membership is imposed. Nonpayment of fees is reason for
termination of membership.
E. Members
to Comply. All Members agree to abide by the Articles of Incorporation,
Bylaws, League Rules and policies (whether written or unwritten) of LHGCL.
